Hi folks, I tried searching for "External MOH Port" but didn't get any joy..
I have a Mitel 3300 CX here with a phono connection round the back for using an external MOH source..
I need to find what port number that connection is so I can enter the 4 digits in the " miscellaneous " config screen.. I looked at another Mitel we support and it was set as - MOH source "external" and port/locaton ID "4 1 3 1" Tried putting the same into the other box but they must have different cards etc as it didnt work.
Can you tell me how to find out what port/location ID the phono connection has please??
Thanks guys..

Did you look at the help file? You need to know what unit was assigned to the embedded asu and make sure everything that needs to be programmed is done.

I looked at the admin manual but it didnt say much.. So how do I find out what unit was assigned to the embedded ASU? If I was using the embedded ASU id need to set it to "embedded" wouldnt I??
The 3300 in question is using an external digital music source, that needs plugging into the phono port which suggests to me I need to set it to "external", thus needing the 4 digits for port/loc ID.
Thanks..

When logged in hit the help button in the upper right. Browse to programming, programming applications, programming music on hold or system programming, music on hold depending on which version you are running.

No the embedded source is a wav file you upload into the system. Any source hooked to either the embedded asu or universal asu is considered external.
Look under system configuration, units and modules for what is assigned what id.

Yeah I know that Johnp. Im not using a downloaded .wav file. The help file doesn't specifically mention the jack plug connection or programing any kind of external music source , only analoge/digital and embedded.. Ill dig through the system config tomorrow.. <---- That is the info needed.. Which screens to reference to get the 4 digits. Thanks Johnp ~Wolf

Hi Johnp (and anyone else that reads)
Ok I looked in the config screen and saw the ASU is unit 3.. How can I find what the remaining three PLID numbers are for Shelf/Slot/Circuit?
I kind of hoped the jack-plug would have a standard/default PLID.
Please excuse my noobness, Avaya is my area of expertise which is totally different.
Thanks for your help..

Without making sure all necessary programming is done to configure the port, you won't be able to enter the PLID.
As I said, use the help file and follow all necessary steps. If you do this, you will know the PLID.
No, there is no default value and anymore information would be beyond the scope of this forum.
If you can't figure it out from this info, I would recommend you hire a certified tech.
