Customer has a sx 200d with Duvoice voicemail. The meesage waiting light is constantly on in room 408. We tried Function, F5, 408, F8 to turn off. Also deleted and rebilt mailbox 408, but light is still on. Any suggestions on how to turn light off would be appreciated.

Hi Nickels, yes we have tried to replace the single line set, but still get light flashing. Is the light turned on by the voicemail or by the PBX?

The voicemail sends the message waiting to the PBX, but the physical PBX turns on the light, based on the information the viocemail sends. What if you program that single line DN to a digital set? Just for test purposes? And have you outed the set and programmed it back from scratch?

I usually do Norstar not Mitel, so i am not familiar with the programming. I know on the Norstar you can enter feature # 65 to erase a message that was sent by a user and not voicemail. Is there a similiar feature for the Mitel?

What kind of integration is the VM using? ONS or COV. Also with Mitels if the MSW is set by VM it can only be canceled by VM. Are all the ports in the same group or is the MSW port in a group by itself? If it is ONS integreation plug a phone into the port that sets MSW and dial the cancel code. Have you tried leaving a new VM message and then deleting it?

With the assumption that this is an analog set, I would just delete and recreate it in form 9.

In form 2, define the feature "Call sender of oldest message".
Go to that phone and dial the feature code. When the 2 devices 'talk' the message light will go out!

What fifty5footer is getting at is that MW can be set by ANY extension that is allowed to in it's COS. So now let me ask, is 408 a local area code or office code? If so, you may have a gazillion MW's stacked on the phone from half the rooms in the motel!
I do not remember for sure, but I believe there is a 'clear all features' code in the 200D 1005/6. That will cancel the MW. Unfortunately, it will also clear the FWD to VM setting on the phone. Better know what it is BEFORE you use the code!
