Option 42 I believe is "Call back to Message sender". Check the code and dial. I believe it is Internal MSG. But in order to delete it sender has to answer.

444 will delete ALL temporary commands at the extension that 444 is dialed from. HOWEVER, IT WILL CANCEL VM FORWARDING and any other temporary command. Use sparingly and with care!

I have the same problem. Is there a way to see what extension has this command? Thanks.

Vad is correct, if the message was sent from any other phone in the system the called party needs to call back the calling party, when and call is answered the light will go out. Be aware that you might have to do this several times as there may be multiple messages registered to that station. The *29 command will cancel all message waiting.

OK, time to clarify all this. In Releases 53, 54, and 55. Default codes are as follows, IF allowed in appropriate COS:
From Ext: '65' calls back the Ext that left the MW. It has one 'leetle bitty' drawback. You have to hunt down the extension that left the MW while it's ringing and answer the callback by going off-hook! This can be a REAL problem in a 2 or 3 floor motel with good noise control construction!
From Ext: '66' cancels S/L message waiting. Requires repeated use for multiple MW's.
From Ext: '444' cancels ALL temporary commands. Including DND, MW's, AND Call FWD.
From Console: '*29' cancels MW's. But I believe this may be System wide with one stroke! I don't have my manual handy, anybody else?
Often times, repeated 'bogus' MW's are caused by failure to dial the trunk access code(s) before dialing the phone number. Example would be an office exchange of '221'. i.e. '221-6543. Without dialing 9, the caller dialed room 221 and set MW! Worst case scenario would be Pizza delivery, or some other often called 'service' number.

Maybe a moderator can fix this: In my previous post the correct example for inadvertent setting of MW is caused when the number dialed is 2216234. Callback setup code is '62', not '65' as the example reads. (Does this make sense?)
