Hi All,

I did some searching for a major alarm coming up on the phone system without any luck. the following is what comes up on the phone console:

"Alarm went from None to Major due to Bay 02 pcm"

does this mean that there is a problem with the program card?

I reset the phone system and it went away for about 24 hrs then came back.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, Please point me in the right direction.

BTW- its a Mitel SX200 with a superconsole 1000

It means bay 2 is probably down. What cards are in bay 2?

If its the entire bay going down, I'd check the bay 2 power supply (is the power cord loose, for example) and I'd check the CIM or FIM and cable that connects the bays... Is the cable loose in the CIM, for example.

Also, do you have connection lights on the CIM or FIM?

Wow, same question different day?

Look at the lights. Swap the BCC cards and the bay PSU. Forget the alarms and tell us what is happening. It's not exactly rocket science, but the Mitel service tech that you forgot to call is probably your best bet....remember the cost of a single room rent lost vs. a tech for one hour.

When the lights are red, it's not a good sign. Green FIM or CIM lights link the shelves. missing or red lights don't. The copper link is a reversing Cat-5 network cable. The BCC is usually the first to fail and it's not a lot of money to replace. If you have thought to swap the bay PSU's and the first shelf still plays, then it's probably a BCC which is suspect in a failure. GET A DEALER or GET A BCC. The dealer will be required to fix it and charge you the $300 or so for the hardware and the labor vs. DIY and you own the BCC even if you misguessed.

That said, you've been dinking with this for 5 days or so. If you've lost one room per day, you are losing money. GET 'ER DONE.
