Looking for some assistance with an SX200 Light system, getting the call tracking back into operation. The property has had their PMS vendor check, and they can see all the way through the Equinox box to the call accounting bos, and that's it. I have never worked on one of the antiques, so I'm pretty much at a loss....
And it USED to work, according to the GM, before Opera took over their PMS which was about 6 years ago....

You will need to find out where the SMDR is coming from & trace back from there. Sometimes it comes off the back of the console or off of a dataset or maybe directly off the maint port on the rear of the 200 light. Then use a laptop with hyperterm to see if you see data. Forms will tell you were the SMDR is sent.

Ok, thanks. I will go back on site and see if I can see where the SMDR would be coming out. I will also try to log into the switch and see where it should be directed. Thank you!!

Form 34 should tell you where it's pointed. On that release, it's probably a dataset 1103 or DS 2103. This will look like a flat box the size of a book lying on its side, possibly beneath a telephone.
The input will be an extension port, using pins 3/6 of the jack (NOT 4/5!!). Obviously you must have a 4-conductor line-cord to make this work, as a 2-conductor won't connect 3/6.
The output from the DS 1003 or DS 2103 will be serial, in a format determined in Maintenance (Off the top of my head I want to say SYSTEM, SHOW, PORT, PMS_PORT but it's been a while, so play it by ear).
Hope that helps.

You should check the settings on the port that is delivering the SMDR and make sure it matches their settings. I have had several occasions where they stopped getting the information and low and behold someone changed the parameters on their side without thinking.

That often accompanies changing the PMS without telling the PBX vendor... Had one GM who kept complaining that the Maid-in-room feature wasn't working, but it always tested good. Finally managed to be there when it wasn't working, and I could get a signal all the way to the back of her PMS box. Turns out that she was putting rooms "Out of order" by deleting them out of the PMS database, which, funny thing, then rejects the signal to make that room vacant and clean.

SMDR is on the printer port not on maintence port if its on a dataset it could have busised out just needs to be retuned to service.

I've seen SMDR going over the Maintenance port to a Tapit or other Call-Accounting systems. But it's most likely on the printer port or on a DS 1103 / 2103.

Well, form 34 directs everything out the printer port. Only thing is, and I feel like such an idiot saying this....., where the heck IS that printer port? I looked all over the system, as much as I could, but I could not find anything that remotely resembled a printer port. Nothing coming out the console, either, and NO data sets!
