I have a question I have a Mitel 5000 Transfer from one node to another node when calling into system externally. My customer calls into the system using our direct line and when he gets the autoattendant and tries to dial any extension gets the message that the extension doesn't exist.
I recently removed on the main node the other node mailboxes in the Voicemail system because they were causing ghost messages on the other nodes which broke the transfer capability from an external number dialing in.
My question what is the correct way to setup the main node to allow outside numbers dialing in to transfer to known extensions. I don't want to recreate the off-node mailboxes as I don't want the ghost voicemail messages coming back. So on this node this to work do I need to create off node Extension ID's on the main node so that transfers to other nodes will work? Thank you for any assistance.

Yes - create Extension IDs, instead of mailboxes, for the off-node devices.
I would disable the Auto-Attendant Transfer Prompt, so callers don’t hear “Please hold while your call is being transferred to extension XXXXâ€Â, which gets annoying pretty quickly.
