I need to replace about 20 AT&T/Lucent 8110 analog speaker phones. First off, they are junk. Second, they have this nasty little automatic handsfree button. The possibility of nefarious goins-on are a negative feature.

There are a bunch of cheap analog phones out there and I don't want to go thru a bunch of trial and error. Anyone have first hand experience with a reliable model. Many of them are in conference rooms so the speaker phone needs to work well. Also, I use them at stations where the users have cordless phones, so a "data" port comes in very handy.

I don't deal with single line phones, but when I did the Vodavi had a good SL unit, but not sure if you can even find em.

The key to a good conference phone is making sure it is full duplex just like your analog handset is . Those autoans buttons should be outlawed . Polycom makes some very good full duplex conf sets . You would need to clarify what the data port would be used for !

Ive always used/liked the panasonic analog phones .

Im assuming you just want speakerphone and not Confrence.

if moneys not a big factor I beleive Polycom makes a speaker phone . no experiance with them but you might want to look at them

I am with Tom on this one, the Vodavi 2800 series of phones is hard to beat when replacing 8110's. They are solid as a rock, inexpensive and with a five year warranty, you can't beat them. Of the handful out of hundreds we have sold, when we sent them in for warranty repair, they replaced them with new ones.

I am not crazy about having to buy a wall mount kit for them, but at less than $3.00, I can't complain. The phones themselves are inexpensive enough to where you can buy a couple of extras, just in case and still make good money on them.

I've had good luck with the 6221 models though they are grey.. which just means you have to buy more supplies.

I agree with Ed and Tom here. When we need to use SL telephones now we use Vodavi 2800 sets. They really are solid as they can be, and they feel like it too. They also have the data port you were looking for, among many other features. You can find them at a lot of places, including hellodirect.com for a very reasonable price. The two line phone price cannot be beat with a 10 foot pole! LOL, but it sounds like all you need is a SL phone, the 2801 or 2802 (more programmable buttons). They also come in White or Black which is nice. I personnaly have the 2802 sets in my home office in the black model and i like them a lot...the speakerphone is nice as well as long as you are more listening than talking....like others said if you need a real conference phone you should spend the extra change and get the polycom as it is made to be in the conference environment, the only "problem" is they do not have a handset if you need one on that telephone.

Check into the polycom line, I've used them for years and have not had any issues with them.

We use the polycom units as well, with no major defects.
