I have been working with Mitels for about 7 years, and in all that time, I have never set up a RAD!! This RAD will be used, I believe, for telling a guest in a hotel that "this is your wake-up call!", or something to that effect. The voice mail is embedded in an AX controller, using 5.0.2.3 software. Can someone walk me through setting this up? Thanks so much - in advance!!

I do have the some of the basic knowledge to do this; however, I don't know how to apply this to only wake-up calls....

Phil- Are you setting up an external RAD or are you going to use one of the embedded VM ports as a RAD?

Phil- Here is what is in the THB for RAD
To program RADs: 1. Form 04, System Options/System Timers - Enable System Option 134, Recorded Announcement Devices. 2. Record RAD greetings - Access the System Administrator's mailbox (see Using the Administrator’s Mailbox, page 107.) - Press 8 to select the RAD Greetings menu. - Press 1 to record a greeting. - Select RAD greeting number to record (1- 200). If the selected RAD greeting already exists, you will hear it along with prompts to accept, review or re-record it. - Record the greeting, speaking clearly into a handset (do not use a handsfree or speaker phone). - Follow the voice prompts to record each additional greeting set. 3. Form 49 (Voice Mail Options), RAD Setup subform - Assign greeting sets to the RAD ports and specify how often the
4. Form 17, Hunt Groups - Select unused voice mail ports and assign them to their own hunt group. Leave the hunting method set to CIRCULAR. - Set each RAD hunt group type to RECORDING. 5. Recording Hunt Group Options subform of Form 17 - Give the RAD hunt group a name  for example, Greeting 1. - Set the Message Length timer to the duration of the RAD greeting set (Greeting 1 + Greeting 2 + Greeting 3...) multiplied by the amount of times the set repeats plus three seconds. - Set the RAD Greeting set (number 10-39) as programmed in Form 49. 6. Form 03, COS Define - Put RAD ports in a COS of their own, with only COS option 223

I have another question about the VM ports assigned as RADs. Do they have to be contiguous? In other words, can I change the DNs for the voice mail ports, leaving "blanks" that I have used for other purposes?? I have two VM ports in a recording group, but their DNs are not consecutive. Does that make a difference? By the way, this RAD setup is in a different hotel, and when the VM calls a room for the wakeup, all I hear is a beep-beep-beep... etc., instead of my greeting.

Hey Phil, just as a note make sure you use the middle ports of your voicemail system for RADs not the first or last for sure. Scott
