I have Guest mailbox 102 that isn't recognized by the VM system. It is set up exactly like all the other Guest mailboxes. I've deleted and recreated the mailbox and analog ext. I've also reset the VM. The message is "that is an invalid number". Help.

Do you have any other mailboxes that may conflict with the number, for example 1, 10 or 1021

Is there an extension 102 in the PBX form 9 in addition to the mailbox in MEM?
How are you reaching the recording? What call progression? (i.e., "When I call from outside, after four rings, I hear, zzzz" or "When I dial this extension at the main menu, I hear xxxx?")

When you call voice mail from ext 102, does it recognize you (i.e 'Welcome to the Guest Messaging System)?

The pilot number for MEM is 400. When I dial 400 and dial #, the MEM prompts me to enter a mailbox to send a message to. I then get the message "that was an invalid number. There is an X102 in the PBX and no there are no conflicts. This mailbox has been working for years and i've done no changes in at least 1 year.

What happens when you dial 400 from ext. 102? Is 102 Checked In? You can't leave a message to a guest mailbox that's not checked in.

When I dial 400 and dial #, the MEM prompts me to enter a mailbox to send a message to. I then get the message "that was an invalid number. Have you tried this on other guest room mailboxes? The system does not let you access a guest mailbox this way and should give that same message each time.

Try logging into a front desk mailbox and then accessing a guest mailbox from the options there.

When I dial 400 from X102 I get the AA message for the system "Thank you for calling...". When I dial 400 and then # and dial 103 (Rm 103), the system lets me leave a message.

Sounds like it doesn't have a mailbox. Is it a guest mailbox? Is it checked in? Can you manually check it in?
