The hotel has a SuperConsole 1000 at the front desk. They also have a 4025 (ext 110, 04/05/04) that can be used by a second clerk during busy periods. I'm told that a while ago the second clerk could answer in coming calls from the 4025 by dialing **. But that no longer works.
I have Googled, searched the forums, and read over the technicians handbook PDF and other Mital PDFs but have not found the needed information. Part of the challenge is knowing what industry terms to use to describe this functionality. LDN? Night Answer? TAFAS?
I can check whatever form settings might be related if you'd be so kind as to get me started.
I listed the COS': 1 guest 2 admin ss 3 ons 4 console 5 ip sets 6 ring down 7 ip trk 8 sub att 9 10 console 11 12 13

Put a night answer button on the phone,, then they don't have to dial anything, just hit the button

Thank you, John.
Form 09 for ext 110 reads: ¦ BAY 4 ¦ SLT 05 ¦ CCT 04 ¦ TEN 1 ¦ EXT 110 ¦ COS 2 ¦ COR 1 ¦ 4025 ¦ ¦FRONT DESK¦ ¦FRONT DESK ¦
Form 02, 14 TAFAS - Any, **
This morning I dialed the hotel using my cell and the front desk clerk tried to pick up the call from ext 110. She lifted the handset, dialed **, but the 4025 didn't pick up the call, it only displayed NO ACCESS. Maybe that message helps narrow down our problem.

If this is a 200EL you can enable cos options 248 (tafas access any) and if you want for day mode enable cos option 250 (tafas access during day service). If this is a 200ICP you can enable cos option 248 and 281 (tafas access during day/night. These would be enabled in the set that wants to do the answering.

Thank you, Panda. For COS 2 ("ADMIN SS"), it was already set to: TAFAS Any Access, ENABLED, 248 TAFAS Access During Day Service , ENABLED, 250

Is the system in DAY Service? The TAFAS from the console does not work if the system is in Night 1 or 2 because it is expecting a pickup from a Night Bell. If the console is the answer point in Night it doesn't work.

If they are in the same tenant, check form 30. If they are in different tenants, check form 5 as well.

did you program a "night answer" key on the 4025? If you did you have to go off hook for the key to light then you can pick the call up. If the console is ringing in day or night mode the 4025 should be able to pick that call up.

The tenants are the same (1). It was in Night mode. I switched it to Day mode and ** now works from the 4025 again.
This whole issue is brought on by high turnover and knowledge leaving the building with former employees.
Everyone, thank you for your assistance. This is not the first time you have helped me, and your kindness isn't unrecognized. When I win the lottery, I'll share the proceeds.
