Have you contacted EnGenius?

I have twenty of the new DuraFon 1X Handset and six have failed. (charger unit/handset don't make a good connection) EnGenius has stated "this is Unusual"

I have the same problem. If you remove the battery pack and place it in the rear slot on the charger it works fine. It seems to be a problem with the front handset slot. I just found out something else. It appears that the front slot works if the phone is low in charge, if it's dead, the battery has to be removed and charged in the rear slot. ![[Linked Image from img116.exs.cx]](https://img116.exs.cx/img116/934/z0tdntknw.gif)

I just found out something else. It appears that the front slot works if the phone is low in charge, if it's dead, the battery has to be removed and charged in the rear slot. I have had that to happen quiet often on the older 920's, but havn't had any trouble with the new Durafon's.

The Durafon's don't seem to want to activate the charging circuit in the front slot all the time. The green LED should flicker orange, which is always does in the rear slot.
Didn't know the older 920's did that as well. I never had any charging complaints on them.
I do however, still have a couple of the 920's that don't always receive calls from the base. I want to say they seem to lose communication with the base, but if you initiate the call, you will always receive dial-tone.
You can have a corded phone right next to the base, a call comes in, rings the corded phone but the 920 may not ring at all or sometimes very late. These have been back for service before and they were returned "no problem found." Very frustrating to be sitting on these expensive boat anchors.
