i need some help with a 124i system. a customer needs some programming done and when i went to enter the programming level 2 (in) the default password was changed. if anybody knows a backdoor or anyway around this i would appreciate it.

Yep, defaulting the system and reprogramming it. Possibly NEC could help you...but you would be better off contacting the vendor and getting it. We do the same thing because I have found customers who have existing contracts (maint)will void them if non (insert company) changes anything.
