I have a working NVM-2002 voicemail. It works great and should suffice to meet our company's needs for many years if it keeps working. I'd like to make a replica of the 10 year old drive. I tried cloning the existing hard drive, but when I tested the clone in the NVM chassis it hangs up early in the boot process. The cloned drive wasn't the same model as the original drive, which was made by quantum.

Any advice how to clone these drives or get a replacement before I need to would be very welcome.
Thanks

I don't believe you can successfully replicate the drive , they have been set up to avoid that I know the voice cards had a "signature " that required you to use OEM , sounds like the hard drives are the same

replacement drives are available but a new VM is more cost effective solution

10 years you've exceed the expected life and are running on borrowed time

it would be a good time to call your vendor and discuss replacement options

Thanks,

Oh well, I was hoping I could keep it going economically. We're a small office and have plenty of spare parts for the Onyx pbx and the NVM itself (someone gave us spare cards, pbx's power supplies and a dead nvm) and it meets all of our needs and then some.

I was thinking of doing the same thing... making a copy of the hard drive software for the nvm and putting it in a new hard drive. Would you not recommend this?

thanks for the help
