From what I understand a Norstar Applications Module can only be expanded to up to 16 channels unless for the purpose of ACD or IVR and a few other functions. I'm trying to find out if a NAM can be expanded to 32 channels for regular voice use only, not peripheral features. Any thoughts?
Is there currently an alternate system that has good integration for Norstar including display functions like fast forward, rewind, OK next...

Is this a Norstar ICS or MCS? Do you connect with fiber between modules?

Oops I read your question wrong. Phone Express makes a VM that goes to 64 ports. It uses the Norstar display to review messages.

the NAM unit can be expanded to 32 ports for voice with hardware(cards) and keycodes from Nortel. The ports are made up of B(bearing voice) and D(signaling, system) channels each channel has a B+D associated to it, but only the B channel can be use for voice. Hope that answers your question.

Thanx for your help guys! But just in case anyone else reads this let me clarify a few things I have since found out; The Norstar voice mail CAN be expanded to 32 channels, however 16 channels are reserved for special applications such as fax on demand, ACD, IVR..., the other 16 channels are for sending msg's, receiving msg's, and auto attendant.
In addition, Call Express still does not have complete integration for "soft key" usage. You will get "MSG For You" on the display but from then on, its all audio
prompting.
