I have a customer with a Nortel Compact ICS where with every call they receive, the time now changes and advances to 4 hours ahead of the current time. This customer does have caller id, but caller id does not seem to be effected, only the system time. It does not seem to matter how long a call is, or which extension receives the call the time never changes back to the correct time.
If anyone has ever heard of or seen this situation and has a resolution, please let me know. Thank you.

Auto-Time & Date The Automatic Time & Date feature enables the Norstar system to use incoming CLASS trunk call information to automatically update the time and date on the Norstar system. Press change to choose Y or N. You can program the Automatic Time & Date feature to enable the Norstar system to automatically update the time and date after a power failure. Whenever the clock is out of sync by more than two minutes as a result of a power failure or a loss of power, the first incoming call updates the clock automatically after two rings.
If all else fails, use a BFH.

If the time is changing on every incoming call, what would power loss/failure have to do with it?

I don't think this is programming issue,to me I think the clock chip inside the system is deffective and the only solution is to replace the system or send it for repair.
Good Luck.

If you loose power for to long the clock looses time, therefore if you have automatic time and date feature to yes. The next call that rings in after Two rings will reset the time(suppose to be correct time), but it goes be telco equipment. This is only affected when using caller ID.
If all else fails, use a BFH.

Another possible reason might be that a proper start-up was not conducted. I have seen some real freaky stuff happen without a startup.
