Customer has a MICS 4.1 that is powering itself off and on occasionally. At first thought it was the UPS overloading and killing the power, but that's not it. Anyone else experience this? Any ideas on what's going on?

Try another UPS. It can be cycling power. It could also be the power supply in the MICS going bad.
Good Luck!!
If all else fails, use a BFH.

Dan, I have had this happen once. It was during the summer months and during the afternoon. Finally had power company put a moniter on the elec. circuit, and found out that the power was actually dropping to 88vac.UPS would take over, batteries get low and system drop. When ac voltage came back to normal, the system would come back up.

Openwire,
What you describe is a brown-out. Voltage drops low enough that lights do not dim, but plays havic on computers and phone systems.
Good Catch!
If all else fails, use a BFH.
