I am looking for a telephone system that will take a digital rj48 type of connection from a F-T1 csu/dsc for 8 voice channels. I am looking at an Avaya Partner ACS , but my understanding is that the ACS will not take a digital handoff (rj48x), that it needs to be copper/analog handoffs. Will Norstar support a t1 card? tks...

Yes, the Norstar will handle a T1 or a PRI with no problems.

The Partner rls 6 will give you a T1 interface. This is a new item and you will have to use a computer to program the T1. Good Luck.

It is my understanding that if you want ANI (like caller ID on a T-1)/DNIS, you need a PRI T-1. Not sure what you do, but my experience as an end user is that you will need to keep pressure on everyone involved to ensure that T-1 provisioning is properly matched to equipment and needs.

Ooops! I was not specific enough - this would be for a Nortel Norstar (not sure if software beyond version 4.0 still needs PRI T-1)
