I have been asked to set up CCR, AA for a Norstar M7324 system, and I don't have the proper documentation to assist me. I am looking for a 'dumbed-down' set of instructions to set up my Automated Attendant to answer on the first ring, and implement message "if you know the extension...press it now, otherwise '0' for immediate assistance". I know that all of the extensions work for transferring calls, and I do not want to have a company directory. Any ideas?

Please also advise what is VMS?
Is that what the 'Modular ICS 4.0' refers to?

With all due respect, that's what telephone companies are for. You obviously have 0 experience with Norstar systems and should probably bring in someone to train yourself in the setup of the AA. BTW, M7324 is not your phone system model #, just the telephone set model #. You have a MICS and probably a Star Talk Flash voicemail.

VMS = Voice Mail System, Modular ICS is your phone system. There is no 'dumbed-down' set of instructions. If you are going to work on the VMS you better get the manuals or you will get yourself in trouble real fast.

Toner,
I do agree. Someone should be brought in. I haven't received authorization to make that call yet, so I have been trying to figure it out on my own for a while, reviewing documentation that doesn't seem to have any relevant material in it for what I am trying to do. All of the manuals I have supposedly came with the phone system, yet the key is not in them. If you know of a site that provides comprehensive instructions on how to set up AA and CCR, please post.

OK, Ditto the above, get a tech.
If you do not, you will need the complete set of installation and programming manuals for the phone system, which appears to be a MICS. Please note that the manuals required depend on the version of MICS you have.
You will also need the full set of programming/installation manuals for the voice mail that you are using, again they vary depending on version.
What you probably have is the system administration guide and/or user's guides.
I would hope that, after you realize that you have all 700 pages or so of documentation, you will realize that you are in way over your head and that you will call in a certified tech before you damage the system beyond repair.
FURTHER NOTE: If you do not have the installer level passwords, you won't be able to do anything anyway, even if you do decipher the install/programming guides.
