Maybe start be telling me how far you've made it. Have you put in the default gateway? Is the BCM connected directly to the outside world or going through a router? Do you have any connectivity with your IP phones at all?

I would love to know this one too. Seems like anytime I've seen this question asked the guys responding give all the "dangers" associated with it but never get around to telling how to do it. If I may: I have a BCM400 with an IP phone that connects successfully on the LAN and also remotely if i use VPN. However the customer wants to be able to travel with the phone and not use a VPN. There is an Adtran router between the BCM and the "outside" and we assigned a public IP in the router which points everything to the local address of the BCM...not even able to ping it. What steps am I overlooking? Thanks.
