We're in the process of installing a new MICS system with a CallPilot 150. Lines come in on a PRI. The problem is that incoming calls get answered by a DN, rather than the CallPilot. The prime set is set to the CP's dn, and there's no line appr or ring on the DN in question (it's 214, and the CP is 200). When we set the CP DN to 214, the AA picks up just fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks,
Mike

Check your target line programming for ext 214.

Meaning the PrimeSet? It's set to the CP's DN...
A new wrinkle has come up - so long as there isn't a phone programmed to 214, the AA will answer. But, it only answers on the main number of the hunt. If a number is dialed directly, the general delivery mailbox answers. If the hunt rolls over, the AA answers...

I did some more checking on what you wrote, re: target line programming. As I understand it, I can't do much b/c we're using a PRI.
The trunk type is PRI and the line type is PRI-A. Any change I make to one line occurs to all of them. I checked the individual sets and I can't make an individual line appr or ring on a dn.

I would not ring the CP by programming the prime set as the CP. I would find out what the target line number is for that DID and then go into AA, Lines on the CP and set it to answer with AA on that target line number.

How do I find out what the target line # is for a DID?
I've found that if I remove the CP from the primeset, nothing picks up and the caller gets a message like "the call cannot be completed as dialed".
Thanks for your help,
Mike

Also, the CP is programmed to answer all of the lines.

Do you have DID numbers on this PRI? If yes then that is how you get the DIDs to ring the sets via target lines.

If it's PRI, there must be at least 1 target line. Target lines start at something like 157. If you're trying to accomplish the AA answering by changing the programming for the PRI channels (lines 1 - 23, 31 - 53 etc.) that would explain why you're having problems. What template did you use when you started this KSU up?

It sounds like you aren't too familiar with the Norstar. What systems do you usually work on? The Norstar voicemails work quite a bit differently than most others...

Most of my experience has been with analog Norstar setups. My boss usually does the initial setup of the systems, and sets up the lines, etc. I'm usually just responsible for setting up callpilots and tailoring the phones and features. So this has been a real PITA...
Anyways - a more experienced norstar installer checked over what was going on and we found that the system was mostly configured properly, but it looks like there's some problem with the numbers coming in from the phone company - we ran a thorough test of the incoming numbers and found that half weren't picked up by the phone system at all...
I will check around line 157 to see if there's anything there, but something about the incoming lines suggested to the installer that there wouldn't be anything there...
