telemarv, I was trying to assume that he would upgrade the flash software rather than buy a new unit if this was possible. This the first I've heard that they will do no further upgrades for the flash. Do you know if this was released in a bulletin or just passed by word of mouth?
You're correct about the price of the CP vrs a used 2 port, but he has a flash now and if you add in legal mailboxes, the CP can get to be a nudge. Doing an upgrade to the flash would be a better value than buying a CP andd legal mailboxes, n"est pas?
And samh, you are becomming very popular with your matrix. Would it not be a good idea to do a Freq. Asked Questions space on this board so a matrix could be posted as well as frequently aske questions?
It would sure save a lot of work. If you like the idea pass it on, if not then oh well.

agreed the most cost effective approach is to upgrade the flash or, if there is no plan to use digital mobility set, use 6.1 software in the CICS.
I haven't seen a bulletin on the subject, but at the same time there has been no new releases of flash software since its discontinuation in Oct 2002 (rev 2.1)

Thanks for the info on the flash 2.1. If they have not released any updates then either they have kept the 7.0 compatible with the 2.1 to keep end users from screaming or it may work without some features or it may just be plain buggy.
Information would be nice but then people in the communication business don't always communicate well.

they're answer is its not supported on 7.0. So it may well work just don't call for tech support. Like the CP and MICS below 4.1. It works but its not supported.
