THERE IS ALSO A SETTING When a call is received on a target line that is already busy, you can choose if the caller gets a busy tone or if the call is forwarded to the prime set. Busy tone only works for PRI and BRI trunks on target lines. Programming is done in Trunk/Line Data under Lines. Press CHANGE to select one of these settings: To prime or BusyTone.

One would think that having a second call ring busy at the T-1/PRI provider would be the ideal solution.
Leave us assume the LEC/CLEC carrier cannot for whatever reason do that.
Simple solution number one: Buy a second fax and set the ring busy to a second port. Faxes are cheap, ports are cheap.
Simple solution number two: Software will let you answer faxes on computers, pc's or mac's. Keep the primary fax for sending and receiving and let the ring busy overflow go to a computer equipped with fax software.
Best solution number three: Set the fax machine for manual receive, attach a RJ11 jack from the fax to computer number one with incoming fax software and a second analog port to another computer with incoming fax software. Busy on first analog port to second analog port.
Now you have stopped printing out every junk faxmail, can forward the fax to any person that needs a printout, store the fax, email it as a .pdf, well I could probably bore you to death going on and on.
