I want a specific line to ring to a phone but not go to the extensions voicemail. I want her to have voicemail so that when outside calls are answered and transferred to her it will go to her voicemail. All calls, but the 800 number will forward to voicemail. The Avaya ACS can do this! You can call me at 248-921-6154. Thanks, rjkorey

The meridian1 series PBX can also do this. But not the norstar to my knowledge. Which do you have there?

Thinking about it, there may be a way to do it on the norstar. The norstar forwards based on ringing lines on the set. If the line on her set is set not to ring, and you use an external alerter for that line, then that line wouldn't tringger forwarding to voice mail. At least in theory.

If you are really desperate, a real round-about-way is make that line ring to a hunt group, set that phone up in the hunt group. I don't think a ringing hunt group will go to that phones voice mail.

NT is correct. Use Hunt Groups. HG does not follow the CFNA/CFB of the phone. You decide what to do with the call if it goes unanswered. You can have a seperate voice mail box for the HG if desired or make it ring forever. Put the phones AND the line you want to ring in the HG. Your CICS/MICS must be using version 4.1 or higher
