I am trying to change the caller I.D on about 15 stations, they are using pots lines here, I would like to change the readout to display only the main number, not the numbers that are in the line pool, how is that done.

I assume that you mean you want YOUR company or your customer's main number to be sent when making outgoing calls. This is a common request/complaint.

This can't be done, at least not on your end. That is a function that is controlled by the phone company. If you had ISDN-PRI for your dial tone, then it could be changed in your system, but that's the only way. Otherwise, you will need to check with your local service provider to see if they can, or are willing to modify this outgoing information.

It's not a limitation of your phone system at all; it's the same regardless of the brand or vintage.

Ed's absolutely correct. OLI is a PRI function. You will have to contact your provider and have them change the CLID info to the main number on each POTS line. It can usually be done but depends on what CO equipment is being used.
