Here is my problem. I have a Nortel 0X32, Dig. T-1, has PRI (but not utilizing), 2-port fiber expansion, clocking card, 6.1SW, CBeyond Communications provides Dig. T-1 E&M, 9 lines, 200 DIDs, CP 150. Everything works fine except the following: I have an issue where only one or two people can be on the phone, the 2nd or 3rd go to pick-up an outside line and the system says no lines available - unplug the system allow it to reboot and all 9 lines are available. Come back the next day or sometimes later the same day, same thing happens (1 - 2 people on the phone) no lines available. Thought it might be CallPilot tying up lines with outdial destination notification - turn off call pilot - no change. Spoke with T-1 provider - they say everything is fine. Any suggestions to maintain the lines? I don't understand why some of the lines remain, but not all. It appears to be dropping the availability of 6 - 7 of the lines and the only way to get them back is to shut the system down and restart it. Any help would be appreciated.

Looking at your channels in "Maintenance", what do you see?

In Maintenance there are several messages:
Sys Log: ALM: 61-02-2 Several of these messages
EVT 263-209 S8, 263-207 S8, 263-206 S8, 263-206 S8, 263-205 S8, 263-203 S8, 263-204 S8. I then checked the Network Log and there are several: ALM 41-0, 42-0, 43-0, 44-0, Evt 323-00 S5, 325-00 S5, 336-00 S5, 328-00 S5, 330, 323, 331, 326. I am not sure if these all point to the same issue or not. I was not on-site to correlate these times to the problem today, but will try to do so. Can you tell me if these point to a specific problem? In the installer manual, it appears these are focused on the DTI, but still not sure it is the problem. Thanks

ALM 61-02-2 is an alarm for incorrect trunk card.

I am not sure exactly what you are saying.
What card do you have ?
Is it the DTI card?
How is it configured? T1 or PRI ?
You have to have the software key code to enable the PRI on a DTI card.

If it is a PRI with 9 channels then you would need to set-up provisioning on the un-used channels.

Thanks. Yes the 61-02-2 is for an incorrect trunck card or improperly configured trunk card. I don't believe it is the issue as this is for the 2-port fiber card that only connects to a 0X16 and everything on the 0X16 works correctly. Also, I need to check the dates on those alarm codes as this may have been with initial set-up. In answer to your question about PRI: According to the installer, the system has PRI keycodes enabled, however we are not utilizing PRI and the incoming T-1 was not set for PRI. It is a DTI card set for T-1 not PRI. Again, I do not believe the trunk message has anything to do with the other ALM and EVT messages, but I could be wrong and I wanted to post all of the ALMs and EVTs.

Okay - I have done some more research. I cleared all of the logs this morning and re-checked the Sys logs in the afternoon and here is what I have found: EVT: 263-203 S8 (11:47), EVT: 263-204 S8 (11:48), EVT: 264-203 S1 (13:02), EVT: 263-203 S8 (13:17), EVT: 263-201 S8 (14:41), EVT: 264-201 S1 (14:31). I know that the EVT: 263-XXX S8 is "the ICS takes the E&M line on port XXX out of service because the far end did not respond to a disconnect signal." (from installers manual) and that the EVT: 264-XXX S1 is "The E&M line on port XXX is returned to service after the far end finally responded to a disconnect signal." This may be simple, but I am trying to determine what causes this. Is it the phone system or is it the Telco T-1 service? I think what is happening is that over time the system is taking several of the lines out of service resulting in my having to restart the system. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

When did you go to cbeyond? It sounds like a clec issue. From what I've heard of cbeyond, they are very good at working with vendors.
