Ok, I've been through the archives, read and reread the documentation and haven't gotten anywhere! I am connecting with a cross over cable, I have the 10/100 lights on, The "easy set up wizard" doesn't come up as it is supposed to according to the instructions.

You do know you are supposed to set your pc in the correct ip range and then load your internet browser with the correct ip address of the call pilot.

I tried that.......at least I think I changed the IP address. Control panel, Network connections, properties. I get NOTHING!
The LAN lights are lit on the CP so I know that is seeing the connection.
Thanks Marv

Many times people have several TCP/IP settings in their stack. If that's your case either delete all but one or address all entries.

Lights are on only means the correct cable is connected.
From the command prompt on your PC type ipconfig. This will tell you what your current IP address is.
Set static IP address on your PC/laptop:
Control Panel > Network Connection > Internet Protocol > Properties > Set IP address and Subnet to a range the CP will see

I typically set my IP properties to 192.168.110.11 with a subnet of 255.255.255.0. No gateway or DNS is required. Also, the browser must be configured to never dial a connection. If all else fails, you can connect a serial cable to the CallPilot using Hyperterminal at 9600/8/N/1 and VT 100, restart the CP and verify the IP address of the CP.
