I think we are missing something here. You say, "Hey, I also have several offices connected back to our site." How are they connected back to your site? I thought you also said that each site has their own Voice Mail? Do all of the sites have a Norstar system? If so then there has to be a phone number for their location. Further explain the situation. Email me and we can get into it deeper if you want to.

Timeline: Approx 5 years ago 5 sites Each with voice mail Each with their own numbers Each had about 10 users
Approx 3 years ago Company decided to route all 4 offices to the main office. Did away with a few numbers but kept the main number of each site. Those 4 numbers plus our original at site 5, are now pumping into the main site. The calls are answered and then pushed back over the wire to the appropriate site.
With no documentation, no power users, and not wanting to pay $150 an hour for Q&A with telco (sorry guys), this is the best info I can come up with right now. I have been told that the phone numbers are still ringing in at each site, but the switch at that site is automatically directing the calls to us. I have also been told that the Telco is forwading all the numbers to the main site. Each site is connected to us (main site) with T1s (one per site). Voice and Data are split across them. Looking at going to VOIP, but it may be later then sooner. That being said, this is why I am trying to understand and get my arms around this setup. Sorry for the long post. Will email you directly when time permits.

Interesting. Let me put it this way. How do you call someone at one of the other sites and if they don't answer, does it go to their voice mail? If so, then do that. When their voice mail answers hit ** and you are into their voice mail box. (if it is a Norstar VM system) Then you need their password to get in and listen to msg's or do admin functions.

That part works fine during the day. Its after hours thats the problem. We have users that are out with clients all day and need to check vmail. They can call any of the sites, but it automatically goes to an after hours recording. At that point you can hit the ** and access a mailbox, but only if your mailbox is at the main site. If its at one of the other sites, then it appears to be a no go. Is there a way to program a route or code that would allow a person to define which site they were trying to access?

It sounds like all calls go to you main location. How do you day-time calls get to the other sites? Does everybody call just one number or does each site have its own phone number even if it comes to the main site? Check how calls during the day get to the other sites. Target Lines? Routing codes? You should be able to set up the same scenerio using the CCR tree even it it is hidden (not announced). Press 1 for site A, press 2 for site B. Then transfer to that site using routing codes or however the daytime is doing it. I assume that calls are passed back and forth accross your T1 or other circuit? There should be a route path for that.

With all due respect. I believe your set up and issue (multiple sites with T1 links) is far to complex to be solved on an open forum. Hire a professional to sort things out and get some training if you want to be the telecom system admin. Its worth the $150.00.

Sounds like they were using networking between sights with NAM at each site. See if there was/is a "back door" number at the other sites that their VM answered so they could access their mailboxes.
