I have a customer asking me about unified messaging. I haven't really gotten into this on the call pilot. does it interface with Outlook? or is there a seperate peice of software that is uses. What about the seat license. Does that mean the number of people who can use it at the same time?

Z, it does interface with outlook but you need to install the client. The client is "told" during install what e-mail program is used. There are differencs with versions of outlook but it's explained. When you configure notification per user, you use a seat. Is that clear as mud?

So every user that wants to get voice mail notifications via email will need a seat license, correct?

Yes,

Also, if the client wishes to fwd emails with attached vmail messages you will need to enable some sort of vpim networking. I think there is a key to enable this on the call pilot.

you also have to make sure the mailbox class has desktop messaging enabled.the vpim is just the 3 digit extension prefix, like 555-1212, 555 is is the vpim, then when you configure it on the users pc you just put in the mailbox extension. Also need to set up the FQDN under messaging properties
