THE SYSTEM CURENTLY HAS A T-1 CARD INSTALLED AND IM NOT SURE OF THE SOFTWARE BUT THE WANT TO UPGRADE TO 7.1 RLS THEN INSTALL A PRI ENABLER AND UPGRADE TO A PRI. MY ? IS DO I NEED TO TAKE OUT THE SOFTWARE CARD ITSELF OR IS IT ALL DONE BY KEYCODES? ONE MORE THING THEY ALSO WANT A RAD INSTALLED. IS A PRI ENABLER A SOFTWARE UPGRADE OR A PHYSICAL PART?

PRI IS ENABLED THROUGH KEYCODES. IT DOESN'T TAKE ANY MORE HARDWARE THAN THE T1.

Why are we yelling at each other?

Hi Tip and likewise to your partner Ring laugh

All jokes aside, programming a MICS for a PRI can sometimes be challenging even for a seasoned Nortel technician. Getting started is simple. Go to the software heading in programming and enter the PRI enabler code. If you this is your first Nortel PRI you may want to re-think going it alone.

Going over it step by step in this forum just isn't feasible. It goes way beyond what we can do for you here. You may be able to sub the job and tag along to get the upper hand on the next one. The PRI set-up is not that difficult after you have done a few. It will be worth it for the knowledge you will gain from it.

Someone may be willing to assist you off of the board. You will probably be charged a fee for this, as it will take a considerable amount of time to do a walkthrough over the phone.

To try to answer all your questions.
To upgrade to 7.1 - yes it is a cartridge replacement. What version are you running now. It may be wise to get the upgrade tool - it will keep your programming so you don't have to start over from scratch.
You can use the same T1 card but of course you need the keycode to enable it. I don't think you will see any PRI programming until you do.
The software upgrade is a physical change.
The T1 is just a keycode on whatever software you are running.....as long as it is 4.1 or higher.
The RAD is just a unit that connects to a digital port. Connect it instead of a phone.
Yes, as Richard says, it would be best to get a tech who has done upgrades and PRI's.

Don't forget... Always upgrade software BEFORE hardware.
