Will be trying to go from 6.1 to 7.0XC on a MICS. After reading the archives and the manuals I see that it may be a chore. I am completely maxed out and have 4 tenants to program. Do I have to change the NVRAM cartridge ? And what happens to my PRI codes ?

If you are using 6.1 it should be a straight swap of the flash card. Sys ID and pri keycode should stay unchanged.
Always do software before hardware.
And of course before any software upgrade, do a backup.

Have you done the upgrade yet, there are some other small changes that happen?

It went very well, I knew about some small changes and compensated for the. I always worry a lot ahead of time. Like taking 20 minures to sync up.
