What parameter should be config to make E1 send the tone to remote user when they dial to my E1.

currently condition, all incoming call to E1 auto forward to operator extension.
Now, I need to make that when incoming call come to my E1 card, the E1 should be send the tone and then the remote user can dial directly to ext number.

You have to program Target lines in order to reach extension directely. Starting Target line # depends on software realese you are running on your Norstar. Then you have to program that line to ring & apear on your extension in order to go to MB on CFNA/B condition.

vad60, is 'E1' what we call DID? On a T1 or PRI circuit? Learning curve here.(Straight Up!) John C

Hi John C,
DID stands for Direct Inward Dialing. If you are using POTS DID trunks usually it is only incoming lines and you can not use'em as Outgoing but on T1/DID you can use'em both ways IN/OUT. They were developed for ability to dial directely into the user extension by sending over appropriate digits. You can have a bunch of DID numbers over T1, let say 200, but only 24 or 23 if this is PRI can be dialed in at the same time.
And yes as you already was informed E1 is Europien standart for USA's T1 only with 30 channels.

Means, if i want that the remote site can dial directly to my extension after connected to E1 then i must activate the DID for the E1?
if possible, please help in what form this config must be change? or there is the example config?

sorry, i'm really still a newbe for Nortel Tech.

Thanks a lot.

Depends what kind of Software you are using you have to setup Target lines ander Lines section and asign didgits to prime line DN number. Those lines starts at 157 for 7.0 release.
Under Services setup Routing service to apropriate Trunk Group code for chosed Rout number.
