I have a T7406 phone and base station (two of them). One works great. I changed the channel on the dip switches on the second one. I can send the security code fine, connects for a second, and then it goes to "SCANNING..." and it won't connect. Phone is right next to the base station. Tried everything I know how to do with these things. Any ideas? It still doesn't work if I unplug the working base, so I tend to discount interference from the other unit.

You have a digital port connected to both bases too? You hear digital dial tone with a butt set? If the SC is sent and the handset registers OK. You have a problem with the station port.

Why are you using 2 bases? Each base will handle 3 phones.

Like I said, the one base works fine, always. The other phone jack works fine with a 7316 hooked up to it, and even with the 7406 for a few minutes. Then it looses communication with the base and can't reestablish. The phones are in use at a far enough distance away to need a second base.

Be warned if the procedures in the manual were not followed to the T, for the install. Those 7406's can be really messed up. So they are working on different frequencies based on the dip settings? Is there another Company in that space area, that may be using a 7406 and already on that frequency?

Did you follow the "Initial Battery Charging Instructions" exactly? If not- it could be a battery issue.

Followed all of the battery instructions exactly, and tried the battery from the good phone.

UPDATE: Switched the entire handset, and still no luck. Obviously therefore, it's either interference or something with the base. We are talking about three or four feet of distance in fairly standard conditions. Also, the base works for a few minutes (about 5 usually), so I'm not sure what it could be.
