I just spent over 1 1/2 on the phone with tech support at 85 dollars an hour to add and delete mailboxes...and now I found out that I may have to delete the two I added...and I have no clue how to do this. I will have to do this at my own cost because I had assumed the two people wanted voicemail and they didn't. Can anyone help me here?
I never had the training with the norstar flash system and I am so computer illiterate. Is there a place to go to get walked through for a min. fee that I could pay out of my own pocket? I am very distressed. I have a manual but it looks like another language to me. This system was put in 1999 I think.

As long as you know the password for the Voice Mail Admin, using Feature 983 plus the password, you should get prompts that will step you through it. To delete, you just hit delete, then enter the mailbox number.

Oh this did not work on tech support. It ended up being way more complicated. I thought if I could just change the CCR route recording...but don't know how to do this...I could atleast not have the option to select those mailboxes. It was some subset of the greeting. I can't remember how we did this, but it was easy....but she told me to select some # 1 or 3 after path or something...I just can't remember. Thanks for your reply

okay,,,i read over CCR section and I think I get is somewhat. It is tree 1 and path 3..so now I am not sure how to rerecord that section. It only explains how to do a first recording....Can you help? If I just change the recording to delete the options of the mail box atleast people won't select them and that will help for now until I figure out how to delete them... thanks

Dianne....

1st off, take a pill & relax.

If it's just the mailbox that you want to delete, you don't even touch the CCR tree. Just do as NTlayoff stated.

The CCR tree just gives the callers a choice of where their call will go...ie to what extention. The caller wouldn't even know at this point if that extention has voicemail.

Oh sorry, actually it does tell the caller that they should select a # to get the voice mail of that person...so if I delete the mailbox the callers are still thinking they are leaving voice mails...so I have to change that message to not give them the option....

Hi Diane
Welcome to Sundance. welcome

You are obviously frustrated. The help you seek is far to complex to provide step by step instruction here or for that matter over the phone.

I strongly suggest you contact a qualified installer and form a working relationship. It save you many hours of grief. Have them come to your office and train you one on one. Over the phone technical help will just put right back in the same boat you're in now in a few months from now when want to make other changes.

You will find qualified installers on this page for the GTA. These installers are by no means acredited by Sundance so buyer beware. If you'd like, send me an email I can recommend a few I know in Toronto who can help you out. They will of course expect to paid for their time, but it is well worth the investment.

Am I to understand that you called tech support to add some paths to a CCR and now you need to delete or modify a path on the CCR?

NO I didn't add any paths. I just delated two mail boxes of people who have left the company but added two more. It ended up being very complicated to delete these over the phone. It didn't end up being the one step the tech thought it would be. I then reassigned two new ones...and then of course had to change the recording of path 3 in the tree in the ccr...Now I found out one of the clients doesn't want the voice mail so I need to change the recording without having his as an option. I figure this is a way around deleting it for now. My company would not pay to train me.....and thought phone tech would be good enough but it all went so fast I couldn't write it all down..and they were doing a lot of trouble shooting. Like I said,,I sat down with the manual last night and I think things are making more sence to me now. I am starting to understand the concepts....
