I would never, and let me repeat never, install a CIC's and use the built in AA and connect it to a startalk mini. But apparently somebody is selling this #$%$ in the stampede city. This is the second customer to call us saying they are having troubles with certain fax machines being able to send them faxes. The fax feature is set up properly and does work with most fax machines, it is only a handful of incoming faxes it is not working. Does anyone know of any fixes for this other than advising the client to order an IBL for fax use?

I put fax machines on CICS IATA's all the time. I have run into the ocasional set up where a handful of inbound fax calls don't recognize the cng fax tone. Make sure the recieving fax machine is set to fax only not fax/phone. In pure fax mode the cng tone is ignored and machine answers in every time.

I am ok with the idea of the fax off the IATA, but not using the AA through the CIC's and selling a lite. Works good for a small company that only has 2 lines. I will try and set that to fax only and see what happens.

I agree with you on the built in AA.

Try lowering the baud rate of the fax machine. Take it off auto, and try 1200bps
