I have some remote locations that I would like to tie into our main location, that is currently running a BCM400. I was wondering what others have done in the past and what equipment they have used. Right now I am looking at using asterisk system at the other sites and trying to tie that in. Has anyone done that in the past. Thanks for your time.

I would recommend BCM 50 at the remote ends.

I second marv on this one. Use the BCM50 at the remote location. not only do you already KNOW they are compatible, but they are designed to work that way.

Oh...and since they have no moving parts they will last longer with less repair than an * with standard PC hardware.

At one remote site, we have a BCM50 installed and tied back to our BCM400 across a VPN and the quality of service is bad. We are not able to overhead page to the remote site from the main site, and when a caller reaches someone’s voice mail at the remote site, the caller has to jump through hoops by pressing (1) and then (5) to leave a voice mail for the person, then just going directly to the voice mail. These are some of the problems that we are having with this system. I was not a part of this installation when it was put in, now it has been placed in my lap to repair or find a different solution to make this work.

These 2 system were designed to work together. Don't blame the BCM's for poor quality, look at your network. I suggest you find a qualified tech who can make it work to your satisfaction.
