Had a lightening storm. Power went out. Norstar-PLUS is all right. The StarTalk Flash works but cannot access the programming. Regardless what password I enter says invalid. Using 3 digit extensions. Will allow me to change password but does not take effect. Need a hint on how to get into StarTalk Flash with 4 Port ver 2. System has
Norstar-PLUS Modular ICS 6 StarTalk Flash ver 2 w/4 Port
Any suggestions on how to get into F983. Remember I've went into feature 985 and press 9. It gives the impression that it has defaulted the password but it still does not work. Advise.

If you're getting the "LogIn-Password" menu---the Flash is being recognized and it's running. Also--If F985 is being seen--then you're OK there.
Have you tried the 2-digit extension LogIn??

It sounds like it defaulted, in which case it will need to be reinstalled. This is common with the Flash.

Yes, I can get the LOG Prompt. And I am seeing the F985. I did try the 2 digit login though it won't let you change the DN's to 2 digits, three only or more. If I cannot get into the password F983 is there another way to reinstall?

Have you tried putting in the initialization password?

TeleMarv, Yes I did. At the F983 it does not prompt for the password. It prompts for the LOG:
Bobcom, yes I have entered the F903. It replies inactive.
Jwooten, I know it's looking for the correct input from me but it is not taking it. I've used the F985 to reset the password to its default and it will not allow me to get in.
I've removed the power, removed the card. Waited about two minutes. Replaced the card, plugged the power in. I can dial all the features but the passwords will not work. Stuck.

Re-initialize and start from scratch. Sorry. You need to talk to telemarv. He's probably going to be the best help. I've done it before, but I'm not comfortable talking you thru it, Sorry. John C. (Not Garand)
