I am doing some work for my Golf club and they want a way for customers at the grill counter to push a button and alert the kitchen help someone is at the counter. The kitchen is somewhat noisy.Do any of you know of a cheap solution for this request?
Thanks in advance.

Have you thought about a simple wireless door chime? They are inexpensive and sold at home centers.

The Viking Electronics #PA-2A will do what you want. It includes the controller (built-in amplifier) and a PA horn. Connect a pushbutton to the contact input and you have it.

I am thinking Valcom or Viking would have something you need. Basically a loud bell and a push button.
Something like this might work:
https://valcom.com/v9945a.htm
It needs a contact closure to work, which could be just a normally open switch according to the manual.

I have looked at some of Viking and Valcom's products already.I had not come aross the 9945 though.I like the tone generator being built into it.I will go with that most likely unless they think it is too expensive, if so I will recommend the wireless doorbell idea.
Thanks guys.

That's funny, I didn't think of the wireless doorbell idea. Good one, Ed!

That Viking, although it has a volume control is stiil going to send the kitchen help packing.

A doorchime is good but if it isn't loud enough there are good old fashioned bells and buzzers available at any hardware store. Right Jeff?

I worked as a cook for a few years, it can get very loud during a rush, adding a strobe is not a bad idea.
