I can remote into a site which is requesting some phone moves. They want to move there phones and keep the extension along with there Direct Number.

I found that this may be possible by from LD 20 by doing a MOV or MOV PAIR at the REQ. My question is: Is this recommended vs just moving the jumper wires.

If moving the phone thru the programming works can somone help with these commands:
Req: Do I use MOV or MOV PAIR (what's the difference)
TYPE: what goes here
TN: I know the TN #
TOTN: What is this and is it needed.

Thanks!

Thank You,

Troy

If you use the MOV command you'll still have to physically relocate the jumper wire to the new TN. All the MOV command does is move the programming to a different physical port.

I see! Thanks for clearing that up. So it's best to just move jumpers and leave it at that with no programming.

If the phones are moving to location where there are phones working you can do it remotely and not have to touch a thing. just get the tn of the phones you are moving and out the phone to where it is going and move your dn to that tn. be sure to record all tn that you are dealing with. if you have to out a phone that needs to be moved copy it to a vac tn then mov it to where you want it to be. It may sound like its a lot of work but if you do it remotely it saves travel time and it works just keep good records.

That is exactly what I would like to do. You don't have a sample of what that programning would look like would you? I have a pretty good idea but am a little leary doing the change and having it not working correctly. Especially if I am a long distance aways.

Thank You,

Troy
