You're accessing the intercom (bottom right button).
Depending on which software you are using line 1 and 2 will appear on the top 2 buttons on the left (6.1 or higher) or 4th and 5th from the top on the left (6.0 and below).
In a squared template there are no pool access codes (dialing 9 will get nowhere).

I have software version 7.1. I will have to try some of these things when I get back into the office.
I am wondering if I need to do anything to load the software from the flash card into a new Compact ICS system other than have it in its slot when the system is plugged in.

Assuming you initialized correctly, everything that flash card has on it 'is in there', kinda like the Prego commercial. But, pay attention to Dave's comment about possibly being a 'restricted' 4 X 8 card. If it is, it will say so on the card label. John C. (Not Garand)
