Post removed. Advertising is not allowed in the forums! -Hal "!" no need for that Hal. Was not advertising at all but replying to a members question. Sounds like more of a diservice to the forum perhaps? In any case, getting back on-topic... look into ESI, Cisco, Nortel, or a different Avaya system. The IP Office wich I install is better used with the TDM sets at this time. Avaya has yet to refine the IP phones. PM me if you need any further help.

Just a side note... If you have three bids and one is half the price of the other two, something is wrong. Do two of them include running all new cable and one does not? Is one of them going to be maxed out when it is installed (undersized) while the other two leave room for growth? Like you had said, it is time to dig a little deeper.

I would ask the vendors themselves what the differences are and give a photo copy (with pricing blocked out) of the different proposals. As a former sales manager I appreciated the chance to make our case against the compition, and then let the chips fall. Let your sales reps do the digging for you. No one ever got fired for selecting the top brand or two... which marketshare has traditionally been Avaya and Nortel. My 2 cents

Oops Brian. Caught you. NEC IS the leader right now in marketshare on small key systems.

Some real good info here. I'm working on the vendors right now. I'm sorry to the board, if there were some solicitations made, that's not what I was looking for! Only the learned advice from this distinguished group.
Thanks, GRM

The fault in this thinking is that NEC comes in pretty significantly lower than most systems on a regular basis. The amount of service and support you receive for your programming and install may vary upon the supplier, but NEC is a decent decision to get a big bang for the bucks. You do lose some flexibility, but there is a way around almost anything.
