I'm installing my first PRI on a Nortel MICS. I got the PRI enabler and have put it in. I'm a little confused as to what needs to be enabled in the maintenance part and the hardware part of the programming. Can anyone help? Also, the PRI card is flashing green. Is this because the numbers haven't been ported? Or is this something else? Thanks in advance.

Same thing that probably needs to be programmed on any NEC systems with a PRI interface.

Config integrated CSU, unless using external, to match telco settings.

DID and target lines (rcv'd digits)
Ascending?
Protocol? NI2?

A few others, which i cant think of.

Just thought of it.

Routes and dest codes.

that's about it.

Make sure that you program the card as a PRI in hardware, then power off and reboot.
Numbers not ported have nothing to do with the green light. That green light flashing just means that it is not sync'd up with the smart card (circuit). I have seen some smart jacks that need a straight cable and some need a cross-over. Check all other programming needed for PRI.

Also build PRI pool and have extensions capable of accessing this pool. Is this a fragmented T. If so disable the B channels that aren't used. Set them to "far" paramater. Is this 10 digit dial? Nortel default is 7. Change this if needed. Delete external code of 9 and then build destination code "9 and any" delete 1 digit and route codes.

As NTlayoff said: First set that card as aPRI in Hardware, usually the default its all you need, then go to Maintenance, Disable card and then Enable it again. Go Lines and assign Lines to PRI-A Pool.
Next delete access code 9 and go to Service> Routing> Destination code> Add 9> follow by Any digits and choose Rout 001 w/PRI-A Pool
