I have a customer who has a MICS 4.1 & nam . some calls are being dropped they have PRI I suggested they call their telco to check the span , but she says she is dropping some call internally (intercom to intercom) any suggestions greatly appreciated system is aprox 8 years old.

I'd try rebooting the system....sometimes helps to clear out the garbage in there...

Thanks Dave , I'll try that , I moved the system about a year ago and went from analog trk cards to PRI at that time

Dropping an ICM. calls is a bad sine unless she's got a bad phone or loosed line/handset cord.

I had this problem yesterday, however it was ext. 221, the recept phone resetting and dropping calls, the customer did'nt say it was disconnecting for about an hour, she just said it was dropping calls, so why was it resetting? the damn amphenol screw was sticking into system just enough for a partial conection, any slight vibration would discon it, It was a first for me in 25 yrs doing this but I've seen stranger stuff. Good Luck and keep us posted on final result

Always take a customer reported symptom with a grain of salt. My motto is trust but verify.
RE your PRI: Version 4.1 was the 1st software capable of PRI and it is unstable. Upgrade to at least 6.1MR.

Long story short ,(50 klm trip) went there planning to reboot called her first and got static on the line from my cell ,called back on a landline got static.(on a PRI ?) got there and watched 2 out of 5 calls get dropped. changed handset cord,(no)changed set ,voila fixed . Thanks everyone for all the good info maybe next time it will be a real trouble ,the KISS method works every time . cheers

Since it has a PRI, I would check the alarms and see if there are any PRI failure alarms logged. I would not disregard the intercom calls dropping,but alarms with 42/75 numbers are PRI related and will drop calls. Good luck!
