we recently moved our highschool from a campus with 14 buildings to a single building. THe campus is semi abandonned. I was asked if phones could be placed in the bigger of the old campus buildings (there are buildings that are a single room being torn down so no need but the middle school (12 classrooms) the gym and admin will need phones) Ma bell has allowed me to use an incomming pair to the new building to tap my TIE cable next door on the campus, so i intend to put an ATA on that line and patch it from the old closed in the old site to 1-2 buildings, Just wondering if an ATA can power 2-3 phones?

Don't see why not. However they will be in parallel, sharing the same extension. More or less like single line situtation in a residential. Keep in check total loop length.

I'd recommend keeping the TOTAL REN under 1.0. But, I don't know what REN the ATA is capable of supporting. John C.
