on a couple of my extensions i have an odd problem. The system is an 8x24 dr5 with a NAM.

when the receptionist transfers me to some extensions i get "the mailbox is not initialized", if i enter the extension through the AA i get the same message but if i use the directory on the system and dial thier last name i get the persons mailbox. is there somthing i am missing on the setup

The mailbox for the DN is not initialized. The DN and mailbox numbers probably do not match which is why transfer calls are going to a different than that specifed in the directory.

i just tested somthing, if i dial the extension number while in the building i get the VM

so lets say extension 246. if the receptionist transfers you to extension 246 you get a not initialised message, if you dial 246 from the AA you get not itialized, if you dial the persons last name you get the box and if you dial 246 in the building you get the box

how is the reception transfering. F980? or F70?
How the different transfers work...

Dial by name uses MB
Dial by AA uses DN and CFNA setting
Transfer by F986 uses MB
Transfer by F70 uses DN and CFNA setting
