So, in the infinite wisdom of my boss, we saved money by purchasing a used Nortel MICS from ebay. So........ I've had to default the mainboard of the mics unit and restored it to factory passwords/etc. So, I can now login to startup, apply a template and get started with programming. I've also been :bang: off and on.

Hardware/Software:
MICS DR 6.0 (NT7B64YU)
Two-LS/DS caller ID trunk cards (NT7B75AAC)

We have 8 incoming lines, and 10 handsets. I'd like our primary number to ring all handsets, and the other 7 lines to be direct numbers to ring specific extensions/handsets. I've tested outgoing calls, and currently have one line
programmed to an extension, and things kinda work.

So..... my big confusion what template should i use? And can anyone dumb down what needs to be done to get one line to ring all extensions?

I'm learning the terminology, but the 700+ page manual is well, alot of info.

Thanks in advance for any help. I never had any idea phone systems could be so simple, but yet so complex.

Matt

Welcome to the forum Matt welcome

You can use the square template for the scenerio described.

You have 8 lines and 10 Telephones. Not handsets. The handset is just the part that you hold up to your ear. Just pokin' ya a little :read: laugh

The manual is really your lifeline here. Take a look at line assignment/ringing. This will get the extensions set up like you want them. If you have trouble you can contact one of the Moderators of this forum to try and assist you further.
