I have a customer with a 616 of unknown software except I know it isn't DR5. They have a Flash VM that you Nortel experts I believe refer to as a "Mini" because it has 12 MB's max.
Once upon a time when incoming callers chose the of option of pressing zero instead of selecting an extension the call would go to extension 27. Extension 27 was an unmanned extension and anyone in the office would use the programmed pick-up key on their phone to take the call.
I would like to create a group or department and then place several extension in the group or dept. Then I would define the group as "operator" which would smooth out the ringing in this location.
I'm pretty sure this is easy but my problem is my knowledge of other systems confuses my thought process.
Thank You

John, I don't think you'll be able to set up a "Hunt Group", therefore the easiest way for you is put "Ans DN's" on each phone for ext 27. Every time someone calls that extension, the others will ring as well.
PM or call me if you have questions/problems.

Thank You! Next question, same system. When a call is transferred to an extension that does not answer I would like the call to go to that extensions MB. Currently it returns (if unanswered) to the ext. that transferred it. Whatcha got?

Set CFNA for the extension in question to the Flash's ext. If unknown do F985 or F905 depending on how it was set up. Set the ring delay lower than the ring back setting on your system.

Also if you are using ans DNs for ext 27, make sure the CFNA timer for ext 27 is shorter than the phones that have ext 27 ans button. Otherwise unanswered calls will end up in random mailboxes and not the GDMB.
Also if you are using the AA make sure it answers before the CFNA timers expire.
