We have a BCM400 we have our phone extentions from 621 - 699 and also have some hunt groups 707-710. Using the Element Manager I went to add another hunt group, however I can't seen to find where to change the extension number. The remaining DNs are locked from 230-254. I want the extension to be 711.

I am doing this remotely so how do you change this in Element Manager?

You cant add hunt groups, they are there as is.
I also dont think you can change DN's for HG's but I maybe wrong.

HG DNs are fixed and depend on the what DN range specified on startup. They can't be changed or removed.

When we first setup the BCM400 we did not have any hunt groups, but later we had the installer add the 707-710 (show above) and the remainder are 229-254. I am wondering how they got HG01 - 04 to change to the 707-710.

How about this, is there another way to get 711 to ring HG05 (DN 229) so that I can have in my AA "Dial 711 for blah blah blah"?

Thats is false in my opinion.

As we have said...HG's are already included, you cant add them when they already exist.
All your installer did was probably just program them to what you want them to do.

A BCM 400 3.7 has 30 HG's...I presume you have 4.0??

Your problem might be because you did a startup by having your phone DN's starting at 621 when at default DN's start at 221 for sets.
Also at default you have 30 hunt groups which start 625 to 654....

So question is "where are all the 30 HG DN's now since I used 600 series for my sets??

Maybe these are your remaining HG's? if so then you have to use them as is, you cannot change the DN's as they are fixed.

Not sure what the obession is with 711 but give more full complete details as to what you want to achieve then we can suggest work arounds.

I've never tried "Change DN" for a HG on MICS or BCM. I didn't think it was possible.

I tried I think when HG's first came out, you could not change them.
Also the BCM 400 3.7 manual states they are fixed and cannot be changed.
Will have a boo at 4.0 and see when time.

I have changed the DN for hunt groups many times. On a MICS I used the change DN in system programming. On a BCM I used telset programming to change the DN. In element manager you can change it in Telephony, Dialing plan, DNs. You can also change the HG dn on a BCM 1000 3.7. I mainly changed the HG dn to match a DID number assigned to it.

Wonder if software dependant.

1000 3.7 or 400 3.7?
