Hi Have MICS and CP 100 with CCR tree to only 2 night DN's with voice mail and message notification set up to dial cell phones on 1st try and a call a DN as second notification. On second try the call goes to proper DN but rings only and voice mail will not pick up. Both DN's call proper cell phones on first try, its 2nd try to DN that's not getting answered. Never tried this maybe voice mail notification can't use DN as out call? Thanks John

Yes you can use a DN as the msg notification.
Are you asking for the voice mail of the DN being notified to answer the call?

Marv Sorry to not reply promptly to your question, but I was on Vacation. Yes I want the voice mail at that DN to answer.

I assume you have the DN CFNA to the CP. Is the wait for answer timer in the COS of the mailbox that is trying to notify long enough for the forward to occur?

I have a similar setup, trying to get Msg N to an EXT rather than a cell phone, and if unanswered, have that EXT's Box take a message.
Are you saying the Answer Timer in the COS of the DN I wish to take a message has to be greater than if the DN is setup for message notification to a cell? Have tested that the Box will call out to a cell, but cannot get it take a message when the call goes unanswered. It will only ring the Ext.

Sounds like maybe both of you are not sure on what Notication does or is for. Seems as though you want the notifier to leave you a message. The message is already in the mailbox, there is no need to go back to vmail again to leave a message when it was already left.
When somebody leaves you a message then the vmail system tries to contact you to let you know you have a message....that is Message Notifcation.
DN/Ext can be used however not realy needed since it shows Message For You on your display, unless you are using an analog phone or want to notify a Huntgroup or want an assistant to be notified of your own messages then you want to use Ext/DN. Option 8/6/Phone/INT/DN#
When all attempt have been made then the system leaves a system message only trying to tell you that it did try to contact you....this is left in the originating DN's mailbox.

Curly from what I understand. I think they are trying to get mailbox B to have a message that says there is a messages in mailbox A that you should listen to.
I don't think the CP will do that. The system will call a DN but it won't leave message there.

Yes, Marv, that is exactly what I wanted to happen and, as you say, it doesn't seem as if CP will do it. NTlayoff agrees, he emailed to say that notification to an internal ext will not leave a message.
So that is that. Had an application in a critical care situation involving nurses & pharmacists. Wanted to setup as a Backup the 2nd Destination in each group's Box as the other group's EXT. That way, neither group would need to worry who was on-duty or what their cell# was, the Nurse's Ext would be the 2nd Dest for Pharmacist's Box & the Pharm's Ext the 2nd Dest for the Nurse's Box.
Thanks for your help.

Ahh ok!
Only think I can think of is to use the Alterante mailboxes (can add 2 of them), this will send the indicator to the display only however the alternat 2 sets must not have a mailbox already. You would share the mailbox but all 3 get an indicator.
Another option is to setup a Hunt Group with all kinds of members and try having the notification call the Hunt Group....it wont notify a hunt group but at least it will ring a lot of sets.
