Has anyone heard of this issue, customer has older 6 X 16 DR1 software. Did not want to upgrade only wanted to add 1 set. Installed a T7316E set and there has been phone issues, mainly when line 1 rings customer answers and line is droped. Duplicated myself. Moved to available line port OK for a few weeks same thing happens. Could it be the phone. Wondering if someone has come across this.
Thanks

Never had that issue.....doubt if there are any DR1's still around here.
Once it "starts" to drop calls, does it do it every time after or is it intermittent?
Does this happen on any other phone on the system?
It is possible that it was a wrong number & they hung up OR that someone is dialing randomly to see what are fax numbers. I once had a client with 5 or 6 lines in her house and that's exactly what she was being paid to do all over North America.
That being said, if the problem follows the phone, that would be my bet. Change the phone and see what happens.

I personally wouldn't put a T-7316E on an old system since it has enhanced features that the older systems don't support. I would swap it out with a refurbished M-7316 or try a T-7316 (non-enhanced).
Thanks

Try an M7310 and see if your issues go away.

M7324's won't work on a 616, yet Nortel advertises ALL Norstar phones will work..... unless that ad was out before 7324's came out.
Should easily be proved by following the phones; 7310 vs 7316 or 7324
I think 7310 was the largest one to work

M7324's WILL work, just not on a DR1. DR2 & newer no problem.
As for the advertisement that you're referring to, it would have been a newer version of system or software stating that all "existing" phones would work. If for example Nortel was to come out with a newer model of phone that would work on the latest s/w version, it would have to be seen as to whether it would work on older s/w versions (unless Nortel pretested and posted as such).

T series phones will not work on 616 older systems, and DR1. ONLY 7100, 7208, 7310 of MSeries, sorry.
