as you guys know for my day gig i work for a small school district with 4 schools. In 2 of our schools we have 8x24s with nam voice mails, one has a CICS with a call pilot. The other school, has a nec IPK that has been giving us major headaches in the 5 years we have had it (tossed voicemail cards at least once a year). so we are looking to backdate to a nortel system because of parts sharing, what do you guys think i should use, about 30 extensions

Why are you tossing so many cards? Is you power dirty? You will have issues with any VM system if your power is dirty. I suggest you install a very good UPS, with surge protection built in.
